Dr. Elmer Lenzen studied at the Universities of Münster, Bochum and San José (Costa Rica). Initially he worked as a freelance journalist for the Handelsblatt publishing group, the German specialist publisher and epd development policy, among others. In 1998, Elmer Lenzen founded the macondo media group (today macondo publishing GmbH), which he has been managing editor-in-chief ever since. He has been GRI Stakeholder Counselor (GRI SC) for the Europe and Central Asia region since 2017. His main topics are development policy and CSR management. He also taught at the University of Münster, among others, and is also active as a speaker and moderator.
Marion Lenzen is responsible for picture editing at macondo publishing. She is responsible for the basic layout of all brochures, books and websites of macondo publishing GmbH. She takes over the coordination with the graphic designers and media designers and communicates the client’s wishes to them. Thus, as a "visual mouthpiece", it forms the important interface between content and optics. In addition, at UmweltDialog, she takes on the task of addressing customers and supervising content partners.
Sonja Scheferling has been a specialist journalist in the Corporate Social Responsibility department at macondo publishing GmbH since October 2012. She also completed further training as a press officer at the Freie Journalistenschule Berlin with a focus on strategic communication planning. Before that, she studied history and political science at the Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster. Her master’s thesis analyzed the reception of the Truman Doctrine in the US press.
Elena D. Köhn studied comparative cultural studies, linguistics and media studies at the University of Regensburg. She completed her master’s degree in cultural anthropology at the University of Münster. Since April 2018 she has been training at macondo publishing as a trainee in the area of corporate social responsibility. During her studies, she previously worked in several internships in the fields of culture and event management as well as in press and public relations.
Ulrich Klose has been an editor at macondo publishing since the beginning of 2019. Around the turn of the millennium he studied political science, sociology and communication science at the University of Münster. Since the mid-1990s, after an editorial traineeship, he has been active as a local journalist. He has been a freelance journalist and PR editor since graduating and was also responsible for PR for an industrial automation company for more than ten years.
Gesa Weber studied design in Münster. After graduating, she gained more than ten years of experience in agencies and publishers in the print and online sectors. Since April 2017 she has been responsible for the design and production of publishing content at macondo publishing GmbH.
Milena Knoop studied Nordic and German philology and sociology at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and at the University of Umeå (Sweden). Since September 2014 she has strengthened the team at macondo publishing GmbH. There she was trained in journalism as a trainee in the area of corporate social responsibility. Previously, she worked as a freelance journalist for various print media.
Darja Ljubin studies politics and economics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. Since February 2019 she has been supporting macondo publishing GmbH as a technical editor for the CSR news service UmweltDialog. In addition to her studies, she has already gained experience in several publishing houses.
Advises companies and non-profit organizations on issues related to the sustainable design of their activities and the corresponding communication. His customer projects received well-known awards. Before that, he worked for more than 15 years in leading positions in a company in the food industry in Germany and abroad. Frank Simon is involved in ESRA’s training and consulting environment.
Argentine, Tourism Professional since 2017 and Customer Experience Specialist. I’ve been studying Digital Communication in my hometown since 2020: La Plata, Buenos Aires. I have been working in macondo for the ESRA project and the Global Goals Forum since 2022.
Argentine journalist specialized in science, health, economy and environment. Degree in Journalism and Communication (Kennedy University, Buenos Aires, 1997). From 2007 to 2019, Gabriela was senior reporter at El Cronista. She received the Adepa Prize for Journalism and the Environment (2008) and the Prize for Ibero-American Business Journalism (2012).
With a German father and an Argentinian mother, I was born in Bochum, where I grew up before moving to Spain, back to Germany and finally living in Argentina since 2017. Here I study geology at the National University of La Plata (UNLP). I have been supporting macondo as a technical assistant at the CSRmanager since the beginning of 2022.
Daniela Wübbeling supports the team as a freelancer in terms of visual design and communication. She has more than 10 years of practical expertise in the printing and agency landscape and completed her Bachelor of Arts in communication management (focus on communication conception) at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in spring 2014.
Casey Butterfield has 11 years’ experience as a translator and editor. She is at home in both American and British English, having been born in California and having studied at both UC Berkeley in the USA and the University of Cambridge in England. Her love of the language first became apparent at the age of 10 when she entered a spelling bee at the Los Angeles county fair and won first prize: a dictionary and a very large trophy.
Robert Furlong studied in Boston before moving from the East Coast of the USA to West Berlin. As a project partner, Robert is responsible for editing and linguistic quality for our international, English-language publications.
Thomas Wischniewski has been working as a copywriter and freelance journalist in Berlin since the turn of the millennium. His work focuses on consumer, environmental and sustainability issues.
is a software developer and has been responsible for the development of our CSRmanager software since 2015. Whether PHP, CAKE, CSS3, Ajax, JSON, Java and much more - what bohemian villages are for the others in the team are in good hands with Arthur.
Theo Körner worked for today’s Funke media group (formerly WAZ media group) for 25 years, most of it as editor of the Westfälische Rundschau. In addition, he worked for two years at the Ruhr School of Journalism to help get the “Newspaper and School” project off the ground. His editorial focus is on economic and political issues.
Gerd Pfitzenmaier, political scientist and historian, journalist for 30 years (including 10 years editor-in-chief of natur and natur&kosmos), author (print and online including WELT, Focus, FR and various books) as a nature and science journalist, publisher and managing director of a TV production company. Media focus: ecology, sustainability and the intersection between ecology and economy.
Markus Schönherr is a foreign correspondent based in Cape Town. His departments include politics, economy and society from sub-Saharan Africa. Markus supports us primarily with our news service UmweltDialog with exclusive content from Africa.
